Most fleets collect far more data than they use. Speed events, vehicle health signals and compliance dates are all sitting in reports, but unless someone is actively looking, they don’t help when it matters.

In this 15-minute Studio session, Peter Morrison shows how to change that. He doesn’t give a step-by-step product tour. He walks through three real-world use cases and five quick wins you can start using tomorrow, without adding new tools or changing how your operation runs.

“You go from an accusation to a fair, informed conversation with the driver.”
- Peter Morrison, Senior Product Manager, EROAD

Three use cases:

  • Responding to speeding alerts fairly. Check overspeed reports, terrain, Street View and dashcam footage before calling the driver. If the posted speed limit is wrong, you can request a posted speed review.
  • Catching problems before they become incidents. Smart Rules use your vehicles’ CAN data to alert the right people as things happen, such as an engine running hot or a driver moving without a seatbelt.
  • Planning compliant routes. Truck Aware navigation accounts for load height, weight, length and hazardous goods. In Peter’s demo, a 5-metre load from the Port of Tauranga to Silverdale is rerouted around a 4.6-metre bridge and the Harbour Bridge before it leaves the yard.

Five quick wins:

  • Right-click the map to open Street View, add a geofence or plan a route without leaving the screen
  • EROAD Share gives you and your partners or subcontractors visibility of each other’s vehicles
  • NZTA compliance dates for rego, WOF and COF feed straight into your service module, so you don’t need a spreadsheet to track them
  • Geofence driver alerts send on-site reminders, such as hi-vis or hazmat requirements, the moment a driver arrives
  • Drive Buddy Fatigue lets you set your own driving and rest rules for drivers who aren’t covered by hours-of-service rules

If you’ve had MyEROAD for a while, there’s a good chance at least one of these is new to you.

“A few seconds of understanding the load, understanding the vehicle, and creating that route saves time on the side of the road.”
- Peter Morrison, Senior Product Manager, EROAD
