Driver communication and in-cab messaging

Calling or texting a driver at the wheel puts them at risk. EROAD gives you a safer way to stay in touch: your messages go to a screen in the cab, and drivers read and reply once they've stopped. You can also have site alerts and fit-to-drive checks go out on their own.

Reach drivers safely, without the phone calls

You need to get jobs, changes and safety information to your drivers during the day. Relying on calls and texts is a problem when drivers aren't allowed to use a phone at the wheel. Some safety policies also ask drivers to confirm they're fit to drive before they start, but paper logs are unreliable and can go missing. And a reminder that depends on someone at base remembering to send it won't always go out.

What you'll be able to do

Keep your drivers informed without adding to their risk on the road, and put the checks your safety policy asks for on the screen in front of them.

Reach drivers without distracting them

Get a new job or a change of plan to a driver without ringing them mid-trip. They don't need to reach for a phone at the wheel, which is safer for them and for everyone else on the road.

Spend less time on the phone

Drivers reply from the cab, so answers come back as messages instead of a game of phone tag. Your team spends less time chasing people between jobs.

Remind drivers of site rules as they arrive

Drivers know a site's rules, and any hazard you've flagged, before they start work there. Nobody at base has to remember to send a reminder.

Support your duty of care

A fit-to-drive confirmation before each trip gives you a simple, documented step that backs up your company policy on driver fitness, with no paper log to lose.

How EROAD can help

Your messages go to the Ehubo2, an in-cab device with a screen facing the driver, rather than to a personal phone. Two-way messaging comes with every plan, and site alerts and fit-to-drive checks are paid add-ons.

Two-way messaging that waits until it's safe

Send a job or a safety update to the screen in the cab. Drivers can only read and reply while the vehicle is stationary, so any back and forth happens at the next stop.

Site alerts triggered by a geofence

With GeoAlerts, you draw a geofence around a site in MyEROAD and write the message. Drivers see it on their screen as they enter or leave, whether that's your depot or a customer's site.

Fit-to-drive checks before the trip starts

Pre-trip communications asks drivers to confirm they're fit to drive before they set off. You can use it for other policy or safety messages drivers need to confirm, too.

Vehicle checks sent straight to your team

Drivers do their pre- and post-trip checks in the EROAD Inspect app instead of on paper, and any defects go straight to your managers or workshop.
