“The strength of the International Registration Plan lies in the contribution of time and energy by industry representatives,” said Scott Greenawalt, chair, International Registration Plan, Inc. “It is my pleasure to appoint Soona Lee from EROAD to a two-year term on the IRP Education Committee to help provide valuable educational content for IRP and IFTA managers.”
The International Registration Plan (IRP) is an agreement among 48 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and 10 Canadian provinces, which recognizes the registration of commercial motor vehicles registered by other jurisdictions and provides for payment of apportioned licensing fees based on the total distance operated in all member jurisdictions.
“Soona shows her dedication to helping transportation industry managers find effective solutions to their technology and compliance challenges every day,” said Norm Ellis, president of EROAD North America. “Through this appointment to the IRP Education Committee, she will continue her work for the industry and support EROAD’s commitment to collaborating with industry stakeholders to bridge the gap between regulatory policy, technical requirements and the operational needs of carriers.”
As Director of Regulatory Compliance at EROAD, Soona Lee is responsible for understanding regulatory context and policies and technical requirements and translating them for development of the company’s suite of compliance products. She has deep subject matter expertise in electronic logging devices in North America and works closely with carriers, drivers, and the enforcement community to improve compliance, safety and efficiency through the implementation of technology.
