What are DVIRs?

 DVIRs are Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports, a formal confirmation that a driver has performed the daily pre- and post-trip commercial motor vehicle inspections, as required by Federal Law 49 CFR 396.11 and 396.13. DVIRs help ensure potential vehicle safety issues are identified and fixed, and failing to comply with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulation can result in DOT violations and fines.
